I was concerned as to forgetting to turn the trunk lamp off before closing the trunk - would that run the battery down?

I have just verified that the trunk lamp in both the ND and Fiat 124 is controlled by the latch, so the switch on the lamp itself is AUTO / OFF, rather than ON / OFF, meaning that once you close the trunk with the switch in the AUTO position, the lamp will turn itself OFF. I've read that if you leave the trunk open, the lamp will also turn itself OFF after 10 - 20 minutes, but I haven't verified that yet.

Good to know. I didn't see that in the book but it makes good sense. Shifting luggage can't turn the light on.

Sorry to ask the obvious, but I can't find the trunk light switch. Couldn't find anything in the owner's manual. Can anyone tell me where it is? I'm sure I'm missing something simple...

It's on the light housing, which you'll find about a foot to the left of trunk latch.
