I feel like if you have the stock air box, or EC V4 intake there would be no benefit to the blanket. I kind of understand how engine bay heat could effect your intercooler, but where is the 124 intercooler?
I feel like if you have the stock air box, or EC V4 intake there would be no benefit to the blanket. I kind of understand how engine bay heat could effect your intercooler, but where is the 124 intercooler?I saw that Madness Autoworks is offering up a turbo blanket for the 124...what do you guys think about the use of one???...they have been around forever...I have never used one...looking for opinions...![]()
I actually called PTP on Friday to inquire about a blanket and the lady on the phone, pretty sure her name was Ashley, said that they are developing a blanket, but have trouble finding a car, a turbo, or even a heat shield to work with. She even went as far as to say that they intended the product to be at market already but they are trying everything to get a car. If you're in the Austin area, I would give them a call and see if you can help out.
I for sure dropped that bottom bolt twice, LUCKLY they dropped straight through and I picked them off the floor, cleaned the dust off and tried again.Installed the PTP today. Pretty easy, bottom bolt was a little cranky though. Super careful when I replaced it not to drop it. Easy project goes south fast when you have to lift the car and remove the belly pan to retrieve a part. Not that I have done that![]()
Didn't notice and smell or smoke.
Looking at images the PTP does seem to provide more coverage that other blankets I have seen.
I did not. There is a 124 spider specific blanket, maybe you missed it. Here's a direct link. I know the URL says Fiat 500 all over it, but on the page you will see at the top it is for the 124 spider. And it is a completely different blanket then the 500 or Dodge Dart. Part # FPRO35-103-01Looking at the website for PTP there is no specific 124 blanket. Did you order the 500 blanket?
