Got the car recently and normally one of the first things i do in any vehicle is upgrade the speaker system. With this car I didn’t plan on doing that because, well, the obvious problem of road noise and other sound qualities that come with having a 2 door convertible. I skipped looking at amps and all the fancy stuff i would normally do and just wanted to get a little more clarity. The stock speakers weren’t the worst i had heard but a little bit nicer would be enough for me. Got some Infinifty 3ohm 3/4 in speakers that should’ve fit in the stock housing cause I didn’t want to have to cut away any of the pillars and wanted an oem look. Snipped the factory adapters off to connect the new speakers and secured the crossover to the back of the pillar right next to the speaker. Before putting it back together i tested it one the right side to make sure that there was a difference, and there certainly was. Put it back together and took a video, in case any one was curious, playing two song back and forth between the factory speaker on the left and the aftermarket cheap aftermarket infinity on the right. see below for pictures of putting the speaker in the pillar and the video with audio. I also got a sticker on Amazon to replace the Fiat Logo with an Abarth one. It is the flexible non metal type.

I like the sticker, although, I like that mine says Fiat and that’s the only place where it does say that, besides, It’s not ideal to stick anything to anything that deploys for an airbag it just becomes a projectile, but that’s my opinion
I have to say the speakers sound very good until you played Journey 🤮😃😃😃

The above statement is just an opinion. My name is Doug Steele and I approve this message.

I do wonder about the sticker myself, I had seen before in a forum people saying just to avoid the ones that are printed on metal but i realize there is a risk with this one too.

I chose journey thinking it would be the safe bet for all ears, I guess it is for almost all ears.

The sound comparison shows more difference than I would expect from just tweeter replacement - Interesting, for an easy mod.

... and secured the crossover to the back of the pillar right next to the speaker...
I though the 124 already has a crossover somewhere near the door speakers? (Disclaimer - Have been wrong before!)

I believe the door and pillar speakers are in parallel. The pillar tweeters have a capacitor acting as a crossover.

Shorthand for schlock rock. Pretty much everything on commercial radio in the '80s where the band wore tight pants (penile bulge optional) and had long hair & exposed hairy chests.
Got ya
Yeah, I graduated in 86 so I’m fully aware of this bad music just really didn’t pay attention to that word, that makes sense

LOL...I am also Class of '86 and never heard of that term. I ignored the bulges to avoid any type of "self esteem mental issue", hahaha. This was about the time I was moving over to "alternative", but...I liked Journey. They were one of the last vestiges of "pop" before I went underground.
