Didn't get anything from that review, but that close up of the shifter is helpful, it might be one of the areas I improve on with a short shifter.

Nothing wrong with it just that i prefer a sportier shifter than what typically comes stock.

Definitely, A short shifter is typically one of the first modifications to get done

I don't think there will be any linkage to shorten, I think that the shift lever goes down and directly into the transmission. If that's true, you could make the lever shorter, and change the shift knob, but that's about it. I don't know this for sure yet, but I will soon enough.

Although changing the knob won't do much for the length of throw, changing to something sleeker will at leave give the feeling of a short shifter with the way I see it:

I agree. For some reason OEM knobs never feel quite right to me, and since that's a part that the driver interacts with a lot, it makes sense to upgrade it, at least for me.
