I had mine sealed with GTechniq Crystal Serum Pro and Exo. It was worth every penny for keeping the car clean, I just spray everything off and dry, using a shampoo every 2-4 weeks, and that's on a daily driven car.

It also stopped the paint that someone poured on my car from staying on, which was lucky. It did not prevent the damage caused by someone keying it all along the passenger side, however. :(

Car's being repainted now. In 90 days, once the paint has set, insurance is covering the GTechniq reapplication.

I've never been a fan of "paint protection" products. I had a bad experience with them on a black car many years ago. The actual protective coat got swirl marks in it and I wound up having to get them buffed out of the coat...and the coating was just as susceptible to marking as the paint. So what was the point?

I'm told though, that these coatings have improved over the years. We did not get the Abarth coated....but my recently delivered MX5 RF was ceramic coated as a "surprise gift" from the dealer. I wasn't sure whether to be pleased or not. So I guess I'm going to find out if they've improved!

How much should I expect to pay for Xpel film on front bumper, mirrors etc.
I paid about $1600 for full hood, fenders, front bumper, and mirrors.

I had the Xpel treatment on my Abarth, but they specifically discouraged applying it to the matte black heritage stripe as they said it would make it shiny and then the front would not match the back.

Seems like protecting matte paint is a challenge all of it's own...

I use Chemical Guys and am VERY happy with the product. Here are my steps that turned out a swirl free deep luster that nothing sticks to

1. Clean with a soap that strips all wax etc. bare paint is the goal
2. Clay
3. Two stage polish. I used CG 36 and 38. Yes you need a random polisher for this but WOW, no swirls left and perfectly smooth. I bought their cheaper Torq model, there is no way to get the finished I got by hand.
4. Buff in a glaze (pick the best glaze for your color)
5. Finalally I used Jet Seal, also buffed in.

Now I use a quick detailed spray V07 after washing with a soap canon using Honey Dew soap. Good as day one after every wash. With the red paint or black the less you touch it the better, the soap canon really helps with that.

Different pads types/colors for each step. They tell you what to use. Yes, up front it was an investment but for me seeing the results I can't recommend any higher. Plus the car is small, you could easily do the car 6 times. And obviously the buffer will last years and years.

These steps on red or black would be amazing

My 2 cents

Every time my daughter gets in the car she feels the paint and comments how smooth it is.

I did a ceramic treatment a couple of weeks ago with Sigma Kore in Centennial CO. So far, I'm very pleased, but only time will tell how well it holds up.
Did they do the whole car? (Paint, roof, rims etc...)
My shop says they can do the whole kit and kaboodle. Top to bottom.
I'm scheduled for the ceramic on Monday

They didn't do the roof (at least I don't think they did), but they did do windows, rims and paint.

ceramic sealant

Has anyone already waxed or otherwise treated the paint on your new spider? I've had mine almost three weeks now and it's ready for a bath and I'm wondering if it's time to wax it. Any suggestions, tips, or advice from those of you who know what the proper treatment of the paint on these cars should be?
My car is intended to be a keeper and I had Ceramic Pro applied. I needed a bit of paint adjustment, but not very much. The results are incredible!
Dirt doesn't stick to the car except in the rear area where there is no air flow. The car is so shiny I could use it to shave in place of a mirror.
Best regards
Pete

This really doesnt sound right to me.
These cars are in a hold, deep in the ship. they are not riding on the deck...

So in order to accomplish this, the dealer would need to have someone do this application prior to the car being put on the boat.
Why would FCA wait around for this one off?

I say call FCA direct and ask them about this. Sounds like a lot of nonsense.
To me, that's like dealers that "mandate" that you have nitro in the tires. That's TOTAL BS and I'd refuse to pay for it or go somewhere else.
