If the ND Miata is anything to go by...

http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2015/03/2016-mazda-mx-5-miata-curb-weight-released.html

Curb weights for the new 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata have been released.

When equipped with the manual transmission option, the car has a curb weight of 2,332 lbs, while the automatic transmission takes that number up to 2,381 lbs. Mazda says this is about 150 lbs that has been cut compared to the previous model, which has resulted in a better power-to-weight ratio for the car.

Now, the 2016 MX-5 carries a power-to-weight ratio of 0.066 hp-per-pound, slightly better than the car’s previous 0.067 hp-per-pound figure for manual-equipped models.

For a direct comparison, the current 2015 Mazda MX-5 weighs in at 2,480 lbs with a manual transmission, which makes the new car 148 lbs lighter. When equipped with the automatic, the 2016 car sheds 161 lbs.

These numbers mean the new 2016 MX-5 is much lighter than one if its main competitors, the Scion FR-S, which weighs in at 2758 lbs.

The small lightweight roadster will put out 155 hp and 148 lb-ft of torque thanks to its 2.0-liter SkyActiv four-cylinder engine. In other parts of the world, a smaller 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine is also available with 129 hp and 110 lb-ft of torque.
