Yep, a full 4 horsepower. Definitely a huge power difference.
Just add a tune and all versions wind up with the same HP.
As I said. I don't expect to change any minds...

And the LSD. I did not mention HP, just torque and when you get it. The HP did not get a boost like the 500 did. I know since I own a 500 Sport and a 500 Abarth. Just saying I disagree with that one opinion that its a just a pretty badge.

The Miata looks like a bulldog. Looks are subjective, I suppose, because to me there is no comparison: the 124 is a far better-looking car. As for the rest, by the numbers the 124 is weak, but behind the wheel, downshifting and smashing the pedal to the floor as you enter a freeway on-ramp, I've never driven anything better.

It was the styling. I've got a 2018 Lusso, red. She's beautiful and very fun to drive. I much prefer the Spider but have a previous love-affair with a 93 Miata. 23 Miata is enroute. Will be difficult to get my hands off the Spider. Like I said, she's beautiful and very fun to drive.

What you said is spot on. So I am not crazy? My other half, she is jealous. She hears me talking to "Mia Fiat" as I leer at her walking into and from the garage. I leered at these cars from day 1 and only now, since August, owned one.

......These cars make people happy. People are happy when they first see them. People are happy thinking about someday owning one. People are extremely happy the day they actually do own one. People are happy when driving them. People are happy when planning out how to personalize the one they own. People are happy fussy over and with them to keep them looking good. People are happy when walking away from their 124Spiders in a parking lot and looking back to sneak a peak. These cars make people happy!......

From Italy, the concerns about the availability of spare parts that you have in the United States frankly seem a bit surreal to me. Here we still have the availability of FIAT spare parts from the 60s both as NOS, used or even rebuilt. I think that the only problem for you in the United States will be to have them shipped from Italy. What I wrote above applies to the parts built in Italy (Multiair engine, Brembo brakes, Hard top, etc.); For Japanese built parts (body, electronics, etc) I think the Japanese also have a good reputation for supplying the parts for many decades after production ceases.

Someone needs to make copy’s of the body panels from fiberglass or carbon. 😁
Steel or aluminum would do for me, really just buying the tooling when Mazda realizes FIAT doesn't see a profit in maintaining supply/availability. I'm presuming Mazda is the supplier of the body panels, and it's pretty clear FIAT lost interest in this model even before they stopped (started?) selling it.

I'm not worried about the Miata parts, engine, or parts we already see fabricated in the aftermarket (intercooler, exhaust). But the body panels (and head/tail lights) are unique to this low-production, low-value model--who would see a good trade in these? I doubt Abarth restoration would take enough interest. Would Mazda be allowed to market them?
Too bad Mazda didn't keep the bodywork and offer it as a styling option to the current Miata.
If they had also licensed Abarth for the model name and equipped it with an Abarth Record Monza exhaust, we'd be better off in terms of support.

https://www.hemmings.com/stories/20...e-to-provide-replacement-parts-for-older-cars has a good comment on the general topic of parts support with "As a young product marketing manager on the Mazda MX-5" (the link directly to the comment isn't working for me).

I say fiber due to metal needing a stamp machine. Way too expensive, and I don’t see a big enough company being interested in supplying these. The headlamps were a part I overlooked as well, nice catch.
