Was checking an Fiat 124 spider catalogue and this appeared, what is this?? I have never seen something like this before? Does someone have it?

Looks like a blowoff / diverter valve for the turbo.

Yeah, that’s what i was thinking, but is it an OEM one? Does it exist?

I did a quick search and it seems as if most of the references to this are from 2016 and reference it being a "prototype":





From Fiat's 2016 webpage: "This is a protype Turbo Bypass Valve offers upgraded performance plus gives the Spider a tough, all-business sound."

It’s been cloned by a number of vendors. I picked one up second hand and it’s an enjoyable addition to the car. My passengers are always impressed. The prices seem to vary quite q bit and it’s easy to spend too much, so shop carefully.

The item itself never made it's way into production as an official MOPAR/Fiat/Abarth accessory. When I first saw it in the catalogue, I tried to order it but was told by the dealer's service department manager that the part didn't exist. A shame, since it was red... and those that know me here understand the significance of that. lol

At the time, the Record Monza didn't exist as an item you could purchase either. Fontunately, after a bit of a struggle, the RM did make it's way into production... but the BOV never made it. :-(

500Madness sells a Bonalume one that you can turn on and off. I suggest this because to me the blowoff gets annoying after awhile. Also it’s extremely high quality
