When you need to haul something really big!

Still awaiting my Abarth AT. With my current ride, a G35 Coupe, I can drop down the rear passenger seats, and with the trunk pass through, haul some fairly large stuff. That just is not possible with the 124 Spider, where the trunk is barley large enough for some small luggage. Does anyone know if the 124 Spider can accommodate the installation of a 2" trailer hitch. If yes, then this Harbor Freight Steel Cargo Carrier (see attached Ad) might help in those times when you need the additional hauling capacity.
The Harbor Freight sale runs until January 14, 2017 in which this Carrier is offered for $44.99, minus any of their coupons you might have. If this is of any interest, take a look at their web site: HarborFreight.com The product reviews are outstanding.

Do let me know if this 2" trailer hitch installation might be a possibility.

The owner's manual states that the car is not suited for a trailer hitch.
Seems like the luggage rack - either OEM or some of the other custom ones - would be the solution for the most part.

True, but won't have an owner's manual until the Abarth arrives, who knows when.

That certainly would help. Have looked at a lot of posts on this subject. Seems like most are European products. That placement of luggage on the rear trunk would certainly impair rear view visibility. Too bad the rear view camera can not be turned on when driving forward as is allowed with the Tesla.

Just use the side mirrors like truckers the world over... ;)

Most owner's manuals can be downloaded from Fiat's website. I picked up an owners manual long before I took delivery of the car.
You could just keep the G35 Coupe as your hauling vehicle.

Need the sale proceeds from the G35 Coupe to help pay for the fully loaded Abarth.
Besides, a one car garage would make it difficult with two cars.
Jeez. Got big stuff to haul? Rent a truck!
Best to just rent a larger car or a truck if you plan to haul something large.
