Hi....Just keep your eye out, many of us got one from ebay or amazon at around £28.00, Dealer quoted £350.00 to install in my Classica, it took about a minute to install.............You have to register through VIN and will get three free updates, again many US guys struggled to update, no such problems in UK and I don't recall any of our Main European Cousins having any difficulty either.......so, a second hand one from somebody here would be useless, Cheers

Oh, okay, that would explain why I can't find one on ebay or Amazon.
Man, I'm disappointed, had hoped to use the one from my 2017 in my 2020.
Also you cannot swap cards between vehicles once the card VIN locks to your car, which happens after you've driven with the card inserted for 100km. And, as folks have said...going for an aftermarket card is a true crapshoot. Naviextras has cracked down on those cards, and many folks have received a counterfeit notice from the update toolbox software. Once that happens, you will not be able to update the card to the latest maps.

Do not pay insane Fiat prices for a navigation card. Google gives away nav for free, Garmin and tomtom for nominal cost, OEMs want to rip you off for it like there is no economy of scale. Plus it's out of date and no traffic/conditions updates.

Get your car retrofitted for factory Android Auto or Carplay, easily done, and costs less than paying the dealer for a nav card even if you pay someone else to do it.

Yup, the cards are VIN locked, so swapping them between vehicles is a definite no-go. You can likely imagine a big part of that reasoning is to prevent fraudulent card copying. And as noted by some others, it appears that the folks that were selling the knock-offs on eBay are no longer in business as somehow Naviextras has found a way to identify them and ensure they can never be updated. My rampant speculation is that the cards have the equivalent of a serial number buried someone in their content and now Naviextras checks to see if more than one VIN is attached to a given serial number. If they find more than one, they all get banned as fraudulent.

So, back to the original question you posed at the top of the thread. Need a card? Visit your dealer and be prepared to pay the piper. Or, as others have noted, you can spend the same amount of money and replace the guts of your infotainment system and use your phone for navigation... and coping with the reliability of AA and ACP to display navigation content on your screen/ If you have other reasons for installing AA or ACP, then the head unit swap might be the route to go. I have AA in other vehicles and I'm not a fan. Others like it. So depending upon your personal likes and dislikes it could be a valid solution for you if you don't want to buy an OEM nav card for your newer Spider.

I really appreciate all the feedback.
We are, indeed, a passionate group of car owners.
Just found a card on Amazon for a 2020 Miata which I'll try in my 2020 Spider.
Will report back in a few days.
THANKS!

Are they still available on eBay for 18 bucks. That’s where I got mine. I never did the update, but it still works fine.
It will likely work perfectly fine for decades. You just won't ever be able to update the map content. It's only when you attempt to update it via NaviExtras that it's identified as a knock-off and blocked from accessing new data. But the card itself will continue to work fine in your vehicle with whatever map content was on it when you bought it.

You still can buy these cloned SD Cards, but prices went up - $59.99 (MSRP:$449.95)

" The SD card can be used only in one car, once it is installed to the navigation system for the first time, it will be locked with cars VIN. Navigation system SD cards cannot be used/switched from one vehicle to another. Item is unused & guaranteed to work. Part Number: TD2K66EZ1 USA / Canada / Mexico. "

Looked at that card on Amazon, said it was only for 2021 Mazda CX5 and CX9.
Found this one, though, that lists the 2020 MX-5 which should be a better match for my 2020 Spider.
Thanks, though for the input, may turn out your suggestion is better, will let you know.

Someone bought a card from Navkings and tried to update it, got an error message from the toolbox saying that the card is fraudulent, and it refused to update it.

Thanks Scorpius, this is helpful once again.
Not sure I care about updates.
But had already ordered it anyway.
Will let you know if it works.
The Amazon listing has been deleted, BTW.
And NavKings appears to be out of business.

The Fiat OEM card which came with my Spider was damaged during the maps update via the Map update toolbox. Maybe 3 months ago I ordered a replacement from NavKings and it was recognized as a valid card and I was able to successfully update maps online. NavKings had only a presence on eBay as far as I know.

Scorpius, et. al., so I tried the card I ordered which is good for the 2020 MX-5, but doesn't work for my 2020 Classica. Do you think the Yaris card will work...the one mentioned above: 6833417AA / PTMZD-1M160 / DD1B 66 EZ1 ??? Thanks in advance.

I don't think the Yaris card will work.
I think the best card to buy would be a genuine Fiat card from a Fiat dealer. That way you will always be able to update your maps (remember that it includes not only the map data but also the extensive phone directory etc). Also, if and when you come to sell the car, the subsequent buyer(s) will not have to endure the issues you are currently experiencing.
