I don't think the Yaris card will work.
I think the best card to buy would be a genuine Fiat card from a Fiat dealer. That way you will always be able to update your maps (remember that it includes not only the map data but also the extensive phone directory etc). Also, if and when you come to sell the car, the subsequent buyer(s) will not have to endure the issues you are currently experiencing.
A few months ago I bought a replacement SD card from NavKings since my OEM Fiat Navi card was fried during an update by the "fiat map update toolbox". To my surprise "aftermarket" navi card was later accepted by " Naviextras Toolbox " maybe because my original OEM card was linked in the past to my VIN. I don't recall if I bought 6833417AA or DD1B 66 EZ1 card.

So I'm confused which is my own fault.
I have a 2020 Urbana.
Tried this card (for a MX-5) which should work but it didn't:
BHP166EZ1J
Anybody know what card will work and where I might find it?
Don't really want to pay the dealer price.
Really appreciate any advice.
Thanks, Rob

I believe that the same SD card is compatible with Toyota Scion, select Mazdas, and Fiat 124 Spider
Compatible Part #s - 6833417AA / PTMZD-1M160 / DD1B-66-EZ1.

eBay purged these cards a while ago... "From what I've read on the Mazda forum, there has been a crackdown on those cheap cards on eBay since many are counterfeit. "

I need to copy my SD card in case it gets damaged or something like that. I remember I copied, but I like to make another copy, but I need to kick myself in the rear. LOL

In regards to the navigation system, is there another software that is compatible with the Fiat and that is easier and cheaper to update? Also, what about exchanging the entire system with one that it will actually update or that is easier to update? Asking, because I have an old portable Navigation, I think is either TomTom or Garmin which all I do is connected to the computer and will update automatically and free. Even my Tahoe updates itself when there is an update. I looked in the internet and found quite a few but no confirmation if it will fit the Fiat 124spider. Any input?

Cheaper? No. If you want a genuine Fiat card, you can get one from Mopar but it will cost you $$$. I got one from Navi-World last week, it did not work. They are sending me a new one though, so we will see how that turns out.

If you're talking about using the built in infotainment screen, then your only alternative wold be to go the modification route to install CP or AA functionality. Then you could mirror content from your phone and use Waze or whatever else you have on your phone as your navigation system. As you've likely read in the other threads regarding replacing the head unit, there are two options. One is a tweak (software emulation), which may be an option for you if your firmware if of the correct version. The second option is the one where you dismantle your dash to replace the head unit and the USB/nav port unit... and all the associated firmware and software processes that that replacement entails. Others here have done it and say it's intimidating but easy enough to do. Personally, I've not a huge fan of CP/AA even on the vehicles I own that support it from the manufacturer. So for me, not something I'm ever going to pursue... and since I have an OEM nav card that functions properly, I don't need to look at solutions. If your firmware version allows tweaks to be installed, then I would recommend trying the software emulation version of CP/AA first and see how that works for you.

Thanks for the information, I guess I will need to wait and see if more updates come along to be available as changes takes place in our highways.

Has anyone had problems with the reverse light
You may wish to move this to another thread that's talking about reverse lights. This one is discussing aftermarket navigation SD cards.

Was this found to work in Spider?
A few years ago, my OEM map car was corrupted for an unknown reason. The vehicle wasn't able to detect that the card is installed. I went ahead and bought one card offered on eBay by seller Navi-king (Navi-king is not selling GPS cards anymore). Not only still works but I was able to get updates via toolbox as long as my original subscription was valid.

Compatible Part #s - 6833417AA / PTMZD-1M160 / DD1B-66-EZ1

I ordered that one from Amazon and I will post my results. Will return if doesn't work.
Mazda and Fiat cut on "cloned" cards in the last of couple years. More likely you will be able to use the card but it will fail to update online via the toolbox.

It was mentioned some time ago that almost all cards on eBay and amazon are pirated but nobody believed it back then. As far as we have seen reports it was possible for those to be updated before but since the sale and cloning became so widespread eventually. Mazda/Fiat (and the Map creator/vendor) seems figured out a way to block those along with the cars' VINs. So now if an update is tried it seems it locks your account and your map card cannot be updated as well.
Kind of similar happened with the Infotainment updates. They are paid services. This is the reason why all free downloads were taken offline by Mazda's request.

The main problem is that the SDcard is secured, keyed, whatever you want to call it, through that portion of the memory that's OTP (think this is where vendor ID, Manufacturer ID, etc are located:

Reading Internal SD Card Information CID, Serial number, PSN, date, manufacturer ID - Camera Memory Speed Comparison & Performance tests for SD and CF cards

So when you insert a brand new microSD into the slot, the slot apparently has the ability to program this portion, or the blocks immediately after that with the vehicle VIN or identifying info (thinking it uses the navigation ID). THEN when that is done, the navigation checks for that. Once it matches, then it starts to read the map files.

It won't hurt to try though right?

100% - Amazon free returns.
Normally I would agree, as I buy way too much stuff off Amazon. But in the case of a nav card, I could only envision a return being honored if a person tried the card and it simply wouldn't be recognized by the car itself. At that point, it's still able to be resold for use in another vehicle.

Buit if it did work in the car, it wouldn't be recognized by the Toolbox app until it's been VIN locked, and once you do that, the card would be unusable by anyone else. So would Amazon still process a return on something like that? It would be like trying to return a used engine part, but worse. At least an engine part could potentially be cleaned up, resold, and functional in another vehicle. But our nav cards... once VIN locked to our vehicle become completely unusable in any other vehicle.

Either way, even if it couldn't be returned, it's not a significant cash outlay. If it works great. If it doesn't, worst case scenario you're out forty or fifty bucks.
