Hey guys found this...

not sure if it would work on our cars though…

Well, for what it's worth, I used the contact button on the website, and asked if they had every pursued sequential tail lights for our vehicles. I'm not anticipating it will be inexpensive by any means, but if he can do it, I'm game. :)
I just got an email response this morning. Sadly, not a positive one, but maybe someday... here's the reply I got:

"Hello Cal,

I would love to work on new projects but unfortunately, my schedule is heavily booked and I unable to commit to new projects at this time. Once I find the correct assistant and teach them maybe I can start accepting new projects then.

- Samuel"

Hello, everybody !
Do you have some news about the mazda 3 2014-2016 front sequential signal ?
and some news for taillights sequential signal too ?

Thank you, have a nice day
And wish you all the best.

Alessandro

Short answer: no. Long answer: the folks I had contacted a year ago haven't changed their position on this (no development planned). I see some sequential insert kids on Ali, but they'd take a lot of tinkering to fit inside our tail light assemblies, and something I'm not personally prepared to take on as a challenge. I was really hoping for a plug-and-play solution, similar to the sequential side marker lights that we can buy. Alas, no joy in sequential tail light territory.

Sorry for late reply,

Yes plug and play, very simple to install !

Have a nice day
Has anyone since @aless124 attempted this install, and is it literally a plug-n-play swap??
Thanks!

Tizz

yes i did it like 2 months ago, one of the best looking mods ive done, it is plug’n play but i had to do some research since i have no idea about this subject. I highly recommend using a piggyback fuse to connect the DRL, it took me like 2 or 3 hours to get the job done (i did not removed the wheels, its not necessary but it would make things easier to do the wiring job)

Oh boy .... I get to learn what a piggy back fuse is..lmao
So, do you have to do the extra wiring as in the video?

They do look damn good though!!

i didnt know what it was when i did it, and trust me, translating piggyback fuse into spanish was PITA, there is another post from other user in the forum explaining details of the installation, its called like “ijdm lights”, good luck.

and no,i did not need any extra wiring

Thanks!! I will look for the post.

I too have bought these the only part that is not plug and play is if you want it to go from white solid to amber flasher. @12S4vage_ was the one who turned me on to these, and a pic of these on a white Abarth with the 300 kit sealed the deal. Btw got mine on eBay under Mazda 3 switchback turn signals, quite a bit cheaper than what was listed for the 124. Same bit.

So back to the original purpose of this thread (rear sequential tail lights), and a link in a post above from two years ago, has anyone attempted this with one of our Spiders?
Here's the link to the LED sequential bulb replacement:
LED 2-pieces Sequential Tail Lights Turn Signal (Amber Design) For Miata ND/Mk4 – The Ultimate Resource for Mazda Miata Parts
...and, here's a link to a youtube video that shows how it gets installed on a Miata:

Looks like this could work... "if" the LED strip would fit inside out brake light fixture properly. That's the big unknown. Aside from that, apparently the Miata uses one 10mm nut on the trunk side, along with a plastic tab to hold the light unit in place... whereas with the Spider, our set up uses two 10mm nuts and no tab.

So the ND has the turn signal socket located on one side of the housing, the 124 has the socket located right in the middle(bulb goes in from the bottom and sits right side up as if it was standing). So you might be able to install it but it will bend into one side with the diodes facing right side up or down...meaning minimal to no light output seen.

Well, so much for that idea. I guess rear sequentials were not meant to be. lol

The sequential taillight dreams stalled with Sergiy @ssh16 3 years ago. Wonder if he'd entertain such thing today?

The other sequential/DRL turn signal mod discussed can be appreciated here:

I think that experimentation ended when he didn't find a willing donor for a set of Spider taillights. Given he was a Mazda owner, he didn't have ready access to Spider components if they differed from those installed on the Miatas.
