Blu Scuro Dark Blue or Rosso Red? Torn between these 2 colors!!

Hey,

I have an opportunity to choose between a Blu Scuro Dark Blue or Rosso Red spiders (both equipped the same way). Both colors look great, so I'm just torn between them.

I don't hold onto cars for very long, so I'll pick the one that may be more of a popular color choice and/or, may have a higher resale value (I know...very difficult to gauge). Does anyone know if the red is significantly more popular than the blue? Is the blue a special release color?

Thanks

No disrespect to the Red (especially if the rally hood is done)
It’s sharp.
But the Red is well,Red
The New Blue is a complex color
Depending on the lighting it can be many different colors
Example
My wife isn’t all that impressed with motorized vehicles and is not a car Gal
When we went to pick up the Gelato White Lusso the dealer had a blue Abarth in the studio
Man it was sharp!
Wife looks at me and says
“Now why didn’t you get THAT one?”
I just laughed
I wanted a classic but at that moment I though
Hmm,That’s Bad A$$
Sometimes (like right now LOL) I wonder if I should have spent the extra $6K

Mine is red, I really like it and there are few people that don't like red cars. I really like blue cars too, but I know many people who don't. So if resale is a concern I'd probably stick with red.

My Lusso is Rosso, the 1st red car I've owned and at age 73 I've owned a bunch.
The red was my choice because I've not owned a red car before, sport cars are suppose to be red, I've owned one dark blue care in the past and it required constant attention to keep it looking good, red looks great with the tan interior, and perhaps most importantly .......... , the girl friend preferred the red.

No matter which color you choose you're going to have fun!

Red, Bright Yellow, Even a bright white. A sports car is meant to be seen coming by the PoPo. Never gray, gold, silver.
Just saying. Mine is Red, lol;)

It depends. Is this a stereotypical "midlife crisis" purchase. If so then it must be red. Sorry. That's the law.

That said, the blue does look sharp. If you're looking to have a unique vehicle then go blue. Of course your chances of ever passing another Spider on the road are next to none so either way you're safe.

The good news is if you make the wrong choice here it'll still be awesome.

As color is as visceral as anything, it is buyers choice. In my case, the blue didn't work for me.

I would suggest buy the blue one, then wrap it in rosso. Or vice versa. Either way you win.

'Traffic Snooker'

It has been rumored that cops like to play "Traffic Snooker" with cars:- stopping a car and issuing a citation = 'potting a ball'. Since the game of snooker requires a red ball be potted before each and any other color ball, red cars are most likely to get pulled over for some minor moving violation than any other color car,- at least by cops who are serious about winning the game that shift....
This I can neither confirm nor deny. ;)

I may have just been snookered by IanA.

PS: Ian, I'm about to send you an email about this weekend.

I saw Russo Red in showroom on Abarth and we couldn’t stop staring. It’s what made me put Abarth into consideration for my next vehicle and still am. Haven’t seen the blue in person. Honestly, I haven’t seen an Abarth here other than dealership at all and we have largest Fiat dealer in country. Crazy, I don’t understand.

I'd go for the red one. For resale Red is the most synonymous color on roadsters.

The blue would look nice with tan interior. The blue the Miata ND had was pretty nice. But the 124 looks like purple more than blue in the pictures.

"Black is the most common color in the SwapALease.com database at 31.4 percent, followed by white (19.6 percent) and silver (13.1 percent). Dark grey (9.1 percent) and grey (6.5 percent) round out the top five most popular colors. Red, ranked sixth, is the first color not in the grey family in the top 10, and represented 5.2 percent of cars in the leasing database."

As Darth Vader would have said, "IMPRESSIVE" . Ask my wife, I am a blue fanatic on just about everything, but for this car it almost had to be red.
