Think I’ll go for the same as you Arthur. Is it zero maintenance or do you have to top it up?

The Bosch fitted without a trim but I threw away the weird corrugated piece of plastic-thing.

The OEM battery in my NA ‘17 Abarth was a Panasonic EFB group 35. I replaced it five years later with a group 35 AGM unit. It fit perfectly but I had issues with it holding a charge (and yes. It lived on an AGM-specific trickle charger). I put in a group 35 OEM standard lead-acid Mopar battery that I got at a decent price. Since then, all has been fine. The main difference was that the Panasonic battery had removable cell filler caps so the water level could be replenished as necessary. The new Mopar is a sealed type.

Type 027 - All same height and width - Some are 242mm long and some are 246mm long.
Strange, all 11 offerings from Tayna's 027 range have identical 242L x 175W x 190H sizes. Of course I don't know if they are identical in reality though!

I think I'll go for the Bosch S4 E05 EFB, the same as @RichH . It's about the most expensive but at 640CCA and built for the grind of stop/start is also one of the strongest available. Also, had many Bosch in the past and all were excellent. Have ordered several times from Tayna too with zero problems so I'll be their repeat customer. £111.87 delivered is good enough for me :)

Although the Exide option with the same specs as the E05 for £82.52 as @Arthur used is very tempting! Hmmm

Yes although we don't have start/stop I suspect our electrical/charging systems have been designed for EFB batteries rather than AGM. I think going for an EFB replacement is probably a safer option and likely more trouble-free.
 
Been in the car since August 2023. Works fine. The remote jump start is incredibly useful for when the car sits for months. It is also rather expensive.

Stock battery is a Mazda group 35 stop/start battery. It's actually a pretty high end battery and I'll be making every effort to find a comparable battery when it comes time to replace mine. Going on 7 years now with that battery.

All batteries eventually lose water, there is no getting around it. Even my AGM batteries have lost water. To me, "maintenance-free" means non-serviceable and early replacement. The OE battery has 7 individual screw-on caps, one for each cell, and I top it off with distilled water at the start of every season. My battery still tests at 90% capacity with a professional battery tester after 7 years.

I have an AGM battery in the Tacoma and I had to butcher up the caps to get them off just to top off the water, and that battery was well on its way to drying out based on actual weight measurements comparing to when it was new.
