Hello everyone!
I'm new to this forum and need a bit of expert advice.
I want to buy a Used 2018 Fiat 124 Spider Abarth Convertible. I was hoping to find out the following.

Are parts incredibly hard to find?

Is it super expensive to own/maintain or just average for a nice car?
(I would be doing the work myself-Ex Mechanic for Mercedes)

Are there any known faults with this car? as in engine time chain problems fuel pump problems etc...

What price did you pay for yours?

This one I'm looking at is $19,000?

I appreciate the help!!!! Thanks!

Maintenance is no problem and they're generally reliable for a 4 cylinder turbo.

The main issue you may find is that some parts, in particular body parts and headlights/tail lights, are incredibly expensive due to limited availability.

Chassis/engine parts that are shared with other Fiat or Mazda parts are fine though.

If you have concerns like you've mentioned in your post (parts hard to find, not enough money, timing chain issues), I think that perhaps an MX5 Miata would suit you better ?
FYI, we dont have timing chains, its a belt.

OP the hardest to find parts will be body pieces, head/tail lights etc.
Many 500/renegade parts are cross compatible engine wise, trans, rear end, suspension, brakes etc are mx5. Source parts through mazda before you shop mopar for better availability and price.

Impossible to say with certainty.

Here in the UK in depends on.......

Your age.
Your address.
Type of property you live in.
Your criminal convictions.
Your driving convictions.
Your employment status.
Your health status.
Annual estimated milage.
Any other drivers.
Access to any other vehicles.
Any modifications.
Estimated value.
Level of cover required.
Any added insurance options.
Where parked during the day.
Where stored at night.
Type of use (social/to and from work).
...... the list goes on !!!!

However, for me I think insurance is reasonably priced.

I pay ~£400 per year for top level Fully Comprehensive Insurance with European Breakdown Cover (including at home cover). And Legal Cover. And enhanced medical cover. And lost/faulty key cover. And courtesy car. And glass cover. And my wife as a named driver.

I'm happy with that.
