Hi All.

Just wondering what the operating temp of the 1.4 is? Mine sits at 78c. Pushing 80c when in traffic or having fun.

Most engines are 90c to my knowledge. Hence why I ask.

In addition. My fuel economy isn’t great, this could be the reason. Either that or I am having too much fun haha. For reference I’m averaging 9.9-10L/100km

Same here, just below the 210 mark. Used to be analog gauges would hover around half sweep, needle in the middle, to indicate normal operation. If the needles were pointing up, all was well. Except the fuel gauge!!

Goaterguy: I see you are in Charlotte, NC. I'm in Mooresville. For a really fun ride check out Brushy Mountain Road heading toward Wilkesboro. Also check out the Yellow Deli on the way there for a quick sandwich and a nice sit down before the ride!!!

No wonder we're seeing fuel dilution in our oil analysis; the oil doesn't get hot enough to vaporize the fuel rapidly enough relative to the rate of dilution.

I suppose that the 80C (176F) value comes from the OBDII? Otherwise, the gauge on the cluster shows approximately 205F (96F), which is not a low temperature. My C300 Mercedes only gets to 85C when warm.

Nevertheless, something could be wrong with the OP's car, though. He doesn't reach 24 US MPG, when I average 32 MPG.
