this is the ebay supplier from Italy...but there are many if you type abarth emblem wheel center cap. this will give you the steering wheel. you will need to peel the emblem from the plastic base that goes into the wheel....with a wire or other....simple process.

for the engine, bought the larger ones found in this thread and cut it down to fit the fiat logo area. They are aluminum and easily can be cut.

for the steering wheel, read my previous thread to remove the airbag, push on the three holes on the wheel...remove airbag....dismantle airbag (see video prior)....remove fiat emblem from the inside ....make modifications for new emblem to fit......reassemble all.

he charged 9 euro for the emblem plus 8.5 euro to deliver.

the 50 mm is 3 mm to fill complete space, but 50 still works. I filled the 3 mm with leather....cannot see the difference. but even without it, it is OK.

A few questions:
1. When the part arrived, how exactly did you remove the emblem from the plastic base?
2. What adhesive did you use to attach the emblem to the steering wheel center?
3. If you have a photo of the leather trim it would be great to see.

I just ordered one via Ricambio for about the same price.

See below solution. emblem sourced from a wheel center cap available from different sources/plastic/chrome sourround......as close as oem. diameter is less by 3 mm only. some surgery to the airbag plastic cover but not intrusive....all Fiat emblems removed :)
I just went to say farewell to the Abarth, and won't see her for 2 months:crying::crying:

I connected the battery tender and at the same time I measured the Steering wheel badge it what I figured it's about 48mm. So the 50mm should snug well, Unless the Abarth badge i smaller than 50mm. When I get back from the south I will order it.

Curious if anyone else managed to find anything? Unless I misunderstood it looks like the best options are:

1. Take apart the steeling wheel and apply the actual badge.
2. Take an extra wheel cover, peel the Fiat emblem off with some form of magic and apply the cover. Sounds like the wheel may still need to com apart?
3. Purchase a sticker and apply it over the Fiat badge.

I have ordered both options, and frankly both are pretty bad. Neither will find their way onto my steering wheel. So I sent a PM to Madness, stating that a carbon fiber version with the entire logo of even just the scorpion in silver would be great. Self adhesive. If I hear back I will post the response. Fingers crossed!

Agree. I ordered one of the options and it looked too cheap to me, and it even had a couple of flaws. I'll wait until there is something OEM level on the aftermarket. If an accessory doesn't look like something the factory would do, I won't put it on my car.

Yep. Got the wheel caps today and tried one. It looked terrible.

Back to the drawing board.

This has been an interesting ride... And to be honest, it's the first time I'd spent nearly $50k on a vehicle without actually seeing what I was getting. There were lots of preliminary videos and images of what the Abarth branded 124 would look like, and having been the owner of a 2013 500 Abarth, I assumed (perhaps the big mistake), that the 124 would have been similarly fitted out. So, I took a serious beating on resale and unloaded by 500 Abarth for $14k (having paid close to $37k for it new, and with 24k on the odometer... never winter driven, etc.), and put my deposit in for my 124 Abarth.

So imagine my surprise, after waiting for months for my vehicle to make landfall in North America, to find that it's missing much of the expected Abarth branding components. I figured it had to be a build error... after all, how could it be shipped missing so many components? The most obvious item right off the start was the Fiat staring at me from the center of the steering wheel, and no fender badges. What the heck...?

I registered my concerns with my dealership, and was told that this was the way they were shipped. Hmmmm.... very strange.

So, I launched a complaint with Fiat. The Canadian representatives tell me that this is the way it is. This is the proper rigging for the Canadian and US versions of the car. I'm not a happy camper. So I push a little harder, and attempt to solicit a response from the mothership in Italy. Well, anything you send them just gets kicked back to North America for a response. But, after many conversations and a lot of investigative work from the Fiat customer relations rep in Canada, here's what I believe to the be case.

The vehicles manufactured for the North American market are built in a different plant than the ones built for Europe/Africa/PacRim. There cars get fitted with the full Abarth branding, which doesn't happen to the ones built for the North American market. What are we missing? Mechanically, nothing of real importance. But cosmetically, and in support of the Abarth brand... a lot. Here's the list of the components that I'm aware of that are missing from the North American 124 Abarths:
- Abarth branded steering wheel
- Abarth lightning flash badges on the front fenders
- Abarth branded engine cover plate
- Abarth labelled/stitched seats
- red mirror caps
- red tow hook cap in front grille
- red lower air dam below front grille

In my honest opinion, I believe North American consumers should either be given the components for local installation by out dealers, or we should be rebated for the components that Fiat purposely stripped from our builds. I had seriously bought into the Abarth brand with my little 500 Abarth, but this experience with the 124 has left me with a sour taste in my mouth, and the feeling that Fiat has seriously disrespected me as a repeat customer of one of their top end product lines. They should be ashamed of this abuse of trust, and should make every attempt possible to deliver us the same vehicle experience as the rest of the world. If you're going to treat me as a second-class customer, give me a second-class price tag to accompany it.

As a fellow Calgarian and Canuck, I think the primary issue in Canada is that the dealers don't quite now where these vehicles fit into the market. All in, my 2013 Abarth was 37K and change as well, (We paid 43 for our fully kitted C30, by comparsion, same year.) complete with a floating interest rate, which had the car value upside down with my loan, which meant I was going to be paying 8K and change in interest for the payout, which is why I rolled that loan into my 124 with a shorter term and no interest and higher payments.

From the onset Fiat was reaching out to the wrong market, witness the J-Lo and Charlie Sheen garbage ads. Fiat, quite frankly, were too expensive to be considered a serious contender to the budget subcompact market. I traded my 2000 V70 to get the abarth and I can say I enjoyed the experience of owning the car. Do I think I got my monies worth, yes and no. The fun I had driving that 2013 whip was far and away one of the greatest experiences in car ownership I've had (until this 124), fast enough for me, reliable and a badger in the snow. Never lost my smile taking it down to Cali for the mountain passes (twice). The shortcoming of the car was the finishing details, I had the doors leather wrapped and upgraded the sub to the Mopar aftermarket version and after 5K in mechanical upgrades it's book value was well behind, not to mention the shortcomings in electronics and possible future proofing the car. but I still loved it.

I have had great experience with my last dealer in town, (the guys in the NE) when compared to the initial buy of my 2013 from the dealership that no longer carries the line here in town. I should mention both service departments were awesome, I never struggled to get warranty issues taken care of, which I can't say the same for our Mercedes guys, with my wife's former 420 or even the Volvo dealer in town. (I have taken to have my mechanic troubleshoot any issues before a visit to the dealer and submit the details to the dealership guys for confirmation and warranty fixes, it keeps them on their feet, my mechanic found three tranny leaks that were fixed by the dealership 3 times for nothing, even though the dealership technically found no known issues prior.)

As for Abarth awareness, its a challenge for sure, there are no local sponsored meets for drivers or owners and the dealerships have a wonderful niche market car, with more potential than mini, but the details and support from Fiat Canada selling into the great white north are lacking. Ideally, there should be ads with the Abarth, 500X ice racing, rallying, hill climbs... etc. (by comparison, Nissan has done an excellent job with the Micra.)
I too am disappointed with the lack of Abarth fitment, as I took delivery sight unseen. The car mechanically though is exactly what I want, so there is a trade off for me, I love and miss the euro badging that is missing, the interior details that are also missing and should be there, but the trouble is you have a distant FCA rollout campaign that has trouble cascading the details to the dealerships. At the end of the day I have an amazing winter proofed rear wheel drive that is an absolute pleasure to drive, but only a few are hyper keen to purchase.

If you ever hear back from FCA, and I've told this to my salesman, FIAT should be happy and aware you bought the car, provide you with some swag and some follow up and offer waaaay better availability of aftermarket trinkets to build the brand. One day maybe they'll be as nimble as their European counterparts in developing image and learn to pivot properly in the regions they sell these cars.

For the record, I think Fiat Canada rather than abusing trust, simply aren't aware that they have a passionate cadre of owners that purchase these cars that want what is offered globally. It's a small slice of FCA Canada and if what I have read is true, even the margins for dealerships have been slim. I see all as an unfortunate oversight rather than a knowing deception. Evidenced in particular, in my experience, that the dealerships have always done their best to honour the warranty and address any issues I've ever brought to their attention.

I agree with your comments. I purchased my 2013 from that dealer west of the downtown by the Greyhound (which no longer sells Fiats). As a somewhat hillarious aside, they called me to make me an offer on my 500 Abarth... and they said $6k was the best they could do... for a mint vehicle I purchased from them 3 1/2 years earlier. 75% write off after that period of time is a bit excessive, and I'm glad they're no longer in the Fiat business. After I purchased my 500, I dealt with the NE dealership for all my service, and they were awesome. Then the owner's son opened a dealership down off 130th Ave. in the SE, which is literally five minutes from where I live, so that's where I purchased by 124 Abarth from.

My belief is that the sales staff are given very little information on the Fiat product line, and on more than one occasion, I've assisted them in answering questions regarding the 500 Abarths. In fact, they didn't even know a 124 Abarth was available until I provided them with the information on the vehicle. My sales rep worked hard for me to get me a vehicle that was as close as possible to what I was looking for, and I appreciate his efforts. Unfortunately, it would appear FIAT doesn't make it easy for them, and it appears the sales support is sorely lacking.

The challenge is that I expected to see a vehicle that matched everything I saw on the web... which unfortunately mostly appears to be European branded. So when we get our vehicles delivered in Canada and the US, we get a bit of a shock. I agree... mechanically, I got what I wanted... and even EuroCompulsion has the after market upgrading available to boost the HP to the 225+ range... very similar to how they provided an offering for the 500 Abarth. Crazy performance for a light vehicle.

For now, I've ordered my fender badges and will install those when they arrive. I think I'll try to source some mini-badges to replace the FIAT on the keyfob (small issue, yes, I know). I found a silicone version of the wheel cap which I may look into, but I'm very leery about a metal cap option... especially if I can't properly secure it in case the airbag blows. Whatever I do, I want it to look professional, and not cheesy... in other words, when someone looks at the vehicle, I want the reaction to be that they assume it's all "factory".

Hopefully... maybe... Fiat will sell their 2018's with the full branding. I don't need the red stripe on my steering wheel, but would love to past ways with the FIAT logo. lol As for the remainder, as noted earlier, I can get after market mopar components (mirror caps), and a very small amount of red paintwork to the towhook cap and grill component. I know folks (as do you apparently), that do aftermarket leather customization, so if I eventually want to see the Abarth logo on my seatbacks, I'm sure that's something they could do for me.

But for now, I wait... unlike yourself, my Abarths never see snow or ice... purely summer driving fun. I leave my beastly SUV for my winter driving needs. :)

That all said, do you think it would be of interest to start up a Calgary Abarth club of some sort? Aside from yourself, and the person I sold my 500 Abarth to, I don't know of any other Abarth owners. Perhaps our dealers could assist by sending out an inquiry to those they sold Abarth models to.

Agree with all

Agree with all said....at least we can vent here. I have tried different avenues (short of buying a european airbag for $ 1000)...but no luck. simply put, FCA is promoting the FIAT brand NOT the Abarth. In Toronto Auto show, the place to flag the best, the Abarth was shown in a corner under the Fiat brand with nothing to highlight the car....most people were not even aware what it was ......compared to the BMW M where you had a huge M Logo , same as AMG.....the FCA marketing dude should be fired.....lets keep hoping !

There is only one plant in the world building the MX5/124 and it's in Hiroshima. There is no other plant.
